Len Schneider
President, TechniCom Corporation
Len Schneider, TechniCom's founder, has 30 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry. Len is a member of several professional organizations including the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). He has written three books on consumer electronics technology and has contributed numerous articles and reviews to most of the major publications in the field.
A graduate of the University of Scranton, Len began his career as a retail
salesperson in the highly competitive New York metropolitan market. He then
joined forces with two partners to design and manufacture low frequency
loudspeakers and amplifiers. Subsequently, Len worked as an independent
representative to build an entirely new distribution base for many manufacturers,
including Kenwood and JBL.
Capitalizing on his technical knowledge and communications ability, Len moved to
Sony, where, as National Training Manager for the High Fidelity division, he
developed new strategies and standards for technical sales training to support
the introduction of many new digital and analog products. With Onkyo, he
directed product development and marketing roll-outs that helped the company
assume new leadership positions in several product categories. More recently
with Adcom, a respected supplier of affordable high-end products for both the
audio and home theater markets, Len successfully broadened the company's
offerings by conceiving and developing the critically-acclaimed GDA-600
digital-to-analog converter, several home theater products, including the award-winning
GTP-600 surround processor, and the successful GFA-5800 power amplifier.
